Guided Meditation

On Tuesday mornings (except in the summer months) a small group meets to practice the discipline of Meditation, a process of stilling and calming the mind and heart to commune better with God and self.

Each Tuesday we are led through a simple series of steps that allow us to centre ourselves within our bodies, to attend to our steady breathing as an anchor and then, in turn, to quieten the chattering of our minds – so that we can enter a slower and more reflective space.

In recent years this ancient practice of daily meditation, with roots in both Eastern religions and in Christianity, has undergone a surge in popularity as MIND, the Mental Health Charity, has championed ‘Mindfulness’ as a discipline now widely encouraged as a support for people in their busy western lives.
